Islamabad and Rawalpindi work like one city for most drivers, so this guide covers both. As of November 2026, ChargeNest's map shows 12 charging locations in Islamabad and 3 in Rawalpindi, which makes 15 in the twin cities. Every one of them is a DC charger, and Islamabad has the most powerful charger on our whole map.

Please check before you go: ChargeNest listings come from the community and from operators. Open the station page to see the last verified time, the hours and recent check-ins before you drive over.

Twin cities charging at a glance

Islamabad Rawalpindi
Listings on our map 12 3
DC fast (50 kW and above) 12 2
Highest power 250 kW (G-13/1) 180 kW (Giga Mall)
Lowest listed prices (per kWh) ~Rs 110–125 ~Rs 110–130
Marked as 24 hours 1 (I-8 Markaz) 0

A kWh is one "unit" of electricity, the same unit on your IESCO bill. A kW rating tells you how fast a charger can push power. Your car decides the real speed, though, so a car limited to 80 kW will not go faster on a 250 kW unit. Prices change, so treat the figures above as a rough guide and confirm on the station page.

Leaving the twin cities

  • Towards Peshawar (M-1): the nearest listed chargers are at Hakla, about 20 km west of Islamabad in a straight line.
  • Towards Lahore (M-2): our data shows a charger at Chakri on the northbound side only, which means drivers heading into Islamabad. If you are going south, plan to stop at Kallar Kahar or Bhera instead. Check the details with the route planner.
  • Towards Murree and the Galyat: we list 5 locations in Murree, but most are slow hotel or AC points. Steep climbs use a lot of battery, so leave the twin cities with plenty of charge.

Tips for twin-city EV drivers

  • Pick a charger you can reach easily. In the I-9 and I-10 area, for example, you have several options close together.
  • Use mall chargers for longer stops. At Centaurus and Giga Mall you can shop while you charge.
  • Winter mornings can be slower. A cold battery may accept less power at first, and heating uses energy too.
  • Charge at home if you can. It is usually the cheapest way. See home charging and compare costs with the charging cost calculator.
