Karachi is a big, spread-out city, so knowing where the chargers are matters more here than almost anywhere else in Pakistan. As of November 2026, ChargeNest's map shows 16 EV charging locations in Karachi. Most are DC fast chargers at fuel stations, with a few slower points at malls and car showrooms. This guide covers where they are, how fast they are, and how to plan around them.
Before you drive anywhere: ChargeNest listings come from the community and from operators. Open the station page and check the last verified time, the hours and any recent check-ins before you set off.
Karachi charging at a glance
| Charger type | What it means | Karachi listings |
|---|---|---|
| DC fast (50 kW and above) | A good top-up in roughly 20–45 minutes | 11 |
| DC medium (30 kW) | A slower top-up of about an hour | 2 |
| AC (7–22 kW) | Slow; best while you shop or wait | 3 |
On fast chargers, the lowest listed prices run from about Rs 90 to Rs 120 per kWh. One AC point is listed at Rs 150. A kWh is one "unit" of electricity, the same unit on your K-Electric bill. Prices change, so check the station page for the current rate.
Quick explainer: kW, DC and AC
- kW (kilowatt) tells you how fast a charger can deliver power. Higher means faster, but only up to what your car accepts.
- DC fast chargers charge the battery directly. Every DC charger on our Karachi map has a CCS2 plug, and three also have CHAdeMO.
- AC chargers use your car's on-board charger, which is often limited to about 7–11 kW. Use them for a long parking stop, not a quick one.

Tips for EV drivers in Karachi
- Plan around distance, not just location. A trip from DHA to North Karachi and back can use a big share of a small battery. Know where your next charger is before your battery gets low.
- Mix fast and slow charging. Malls like Ocean Mall and Dolmen Mall let you add range while you shop. Save fast chargers for when you are short on time.
- Expect heat and humidity to matter. On hot days, air conditioning uses more energy, and a hot battery may charge more slowly. Leave extra buffer in summer.
- Leaving for Hyderabad? Top up near the M-9 toll plaza first. Our data shows the next chargers at Nooriabad, roughly 60 km away in a straight line. Plan the full trip with the route planner.
- Charge at home where you can. It is usually far cheaper per kWh than public fast charging. Compare the options with the charging cost calculator and read our home charging guide.
- Know a charger we have missed? Please submit a station so other drivers can find it.
